Sahih al-Bukhari (Arabic: صحيح البخاري), as it is commonly referred to as, is one of the six canonical hadith collections of Islam. These prophetic traditions, or hadith, were collected by the Muslim scholar Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari (810-870) and compiled during his lifetime. Most Muslims view this as their most trusted collection of hadith and it is considered the most authentic book after the Qur'an. |

Sahih Muslim (Arabic: صحيح مسلم, Sahīh Muslim, full title Al-Musnadu Al-Sahihu bi Naklil Adli) is one of the Six major collections of the hadith in Islam, oral traditions relating to the words and deeds of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. It is the second most authentic hadith collection according to Muslims, the most authentic book of hadith after Sahih Al-Bukhari. It was collected by Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj, also known as Imam Muslim. |

Musnid Al-Imam Ahmad (Arabic: مسند الامام أحمد), as it is commonly referred to as, is one of the six canonical hadith collections of Islam. These prophetic traditions, or hadith, were collected by the Muslim scholar Ahmed ibn Hanbal (Arabic: أحمد بن حنبل , Ahmad bin Hanbal) (780 - 855 CE, 164 - 241 AH) was an important Muslim scholar and theologian born in Khorassan He is considered the founder of the Hanbali school of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence). Most Muslims view this as their most trusted collection of hadith and it is considered the most authentic book after the Qur'an. |

The Muwatta (الموطأ) is an early collection of Muslim law, compiled and edited by Imam Malik. It is considered to be from the earliest extant collections of hadith that form the basis of Islamic jurisprudence alongside the Qur'an. Nonetheless, is not merely a collection of hadith; many of the legal precepts it contains are based not on hadith at all. The book covers rituals, rites, customs, traditions, norms and laws of the time of the Prophet Muhammad. |
